The Royal Bank of Scotland

Bell Security holds the prestige position of being preferred supplier of electronic security systems to The Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS). RBS is one of the world’s largest banking groups, with global revenues in 2005 exceeding GBP 25 billion. The company has more than 100,000 UK staff. Bell’s relationship with the bank started in the late 1980s. In 2006, RBS started its Approved Supplier Programme and Bell was one of those awarded Approved Supplier 06.

As an approved supplier, Bell provides security systems design, installation and service/maintenance, up to the highest security levels, at all sites for RBS-owned businesses in the UK including some ten banking/financial services companies and their subsidiaries. This involves over 3,000 sites spanning: retail bank branches, larger administrative and back-office facilities, ATMs and mobile banks. Of particular pride to Bell is its involvement in RBS’ innovative, global headquarters, outside Edinburgh, which opened in 2005.

Internationally, Bell draws on sister companies within the Niscayah Group to support RBS’ sites wherever possible.

Bell combines the key security systems disciplines such as state-of-the-art CCTV, an enterprise-wide access control system from Pacom as well as technology for surveillance and intruder technologies into integrated solutions. RBS monitors its state-of-the-art facilities incorporating the Niscayah-owned Pacom technology, which allows the bank signifcant use of its own data networks for security systems’ communications.

Bell’s customer relationship with RBS is cultivated operationally, and strategically, via dedicated management and engineering resources headed by a National Account Director. Operationally, Bell mirror the regional security management structure RBS has in place, for maximum day-to-day responsiveness.

At a strategic level, senior Bell personnel work with both the RBS’ Security and Procurement executives to oversee and develop the relationship.
